  wedding prayer

who here has not marveled
at the mysteries of love and life?
that from such separate beginnings;
distant, distinct and apart;

this man and this woman stand
before us today, surrounded
by families and friends
and unseen, hallowed hands!

who here has not marveled
at the mysteries of love and life?
how hope and faith stir
within each human heart

and shelter within the soul
a shared love for one another;
nourishing a deep abiding need
created there by the Spirit of God!

who here has not marveled
at the mysteries of love and life?
that the marriage of two people
is the marriage of three spirits!

     O God Almighty, hear us
     as we pray Your blessings
     upon our children today.
     may Your Holy Spirit,

     with us now in this gathering,
     abide with them in all their ways
     from this day forth and forevermore!
     Amen, Amen, and Amen!
