when i draw near unto the waters there is an angel who has power over the waters: each river, stream, pond and brook; every ocean, lake and sea. and when i draw near unto the waters of this world O Lord, that angel has a great and mighty power over me! O my soul the oceans, vast and teeming strong with waves of windswept grandeur; or rivers, wide and narrow, ranging through creases where hillside melds to valley; even tiny mountain streams patiently feeding pristine lakes whose crystal-smooth surfaces at times reflect the mysteries of heaven and earth much better than my own dull, dry eyes. yes, when i draw near unto the waters of this world O Lord, that angel ... that angel has a great and mighty power over me!
